LONG ARM QUILTING: There is a shop close to me that will do long arm quilting (that beautiful design stitched onto the quilt). If you are interested, please see their web page here for details: http://www.sewbeeitquilting.com/longarm.html*add quilt batting (because I use warm fleece for backing, I do not add batting. if you would like this, you would only need to pay the additional cost of the batting itself)

IDEAS FOR QUILTS: Examples of things to put onto quilts are squares of personalized messages to the recipient all put together with matching fabric, baby clothes, marathon tee's, pictures of your children from kinder to 12th grade, wedding photos, random fabrics or tee shirts that hold special values..... The possibilities are endless!!!Lots more ideas can be found HERE.
FABRIC/MATERIALS: I use your clothing and add flannel coordinating pieces. I also add little fun things throughout for you to enjoy! The backing will be fleece unless you would prefer minky (which is an additional fee). I highly encourage you to purchase your own materials and fabrics, after all you know what you like the most! If you purchase them off a website, you can have them shipped directly to me. If you would like me to find and purchase them, you will be required to pay for them in advance (in increments of 1 yard). If the fabric is purchased on sale, the savings will be passed along and the additional will be applied towards the remaining balance.CARE: Due to the fabrics and additional adornments used, I highly recommend dry clean only (I do prewash all additional fabrics I use with econuts and dryed with dryer balls)
ORDERING: I only take on 1-2 custom quilts at a time because I do not want to feel pressured to rush through it. I don't want to think about everything else sitting in the corner waiting for me.... I want to be able to let the creative juices flow and be able to focus solely on your memories! For this reason, I have a wait list. If you are interested in being on the wait list, please post your name and email address at below.
These take a lot of time to put together, so please allow me at the minimum 10 weeks. If I need more time, I will let you know. Please let me know if you need sooner and I will do my best to accommodate (an additional fee will apply for rush orders)

Getting your special moments out of a box and into a quilt!

A few ideas for making those memories last!
  • School Years Quilt: Put all those school photos into a quilt blanket or wall hanging. Makes a great gift for that soon-to-be grad in your life!
  • All About ME!!! : This one is going to be a fun one for me! Gather up all the things that make you, well you! All the things you like (or that special someone likes). Go wild! Dont forget about your birth month flower, sign, etc... Favorite bands, music, people, hobbies, places, events ... all the things that make you, you! (mine would have a lot of attachment parenting symbols on it!) Cut them out of fabric and applique them onto different squares. Put them all together with your favorite colors and VIOLA! You have an "All About Me" Quilt to keep you warm at night!!
  • Young Love: Take a picture of you and your sweet heart every year at the same time. For an anniversary present put them into a quilt and give it as a gift!
  • My First Year: Take a photo of baby every month at the same time. At one year put them all on a quilt.
  • Watch Me Grow: Take a picture of your child every year and put them into a quilt.
  • *another version of this could be to take a pregnancy belly shot each week and then one of baby. Put baby in the center of the quilt and add each photo of the belly to see the progress. This works best if each belly shot is in the same position and clothing. You could also add in the ultrasound pictures :)
  • Notes To Baby: At your baby shower have everyone write a note to the baby and put them together with the newborn picture of baby in the middle. This would be great memory for baby to have!
  • Notes to Couple: Same as notes to baby, but for the couple getting married. Have each wedding guest write an ote to the couple. Put the couples wedding photo in the middle and the guest messages all around.
  • Making Memories: As a gift to that special someone in your life, gather the people who mean the most and have them write/draw out soemthing on a square. Put them all together as a gift for birthday, Chrismtas, graduation, new baby, wedding, etc... the possibilities with this one are endless! We did this one for our first year and second year nursing instructors.
  • Clothes: Gather up all those baby clothes collecting dust and sitting in those boxes ... you know the ones from when the baby was first born, college jersey's, marathon tee shirts, bowling tee's, etc .... and just start cutting! Jump in and dont be afraid to get your feet wet!
For an added bonus on each - embroider or applique their name(s)/date(s) on it!
What are your ideas for preserving those memories?
